Hello!

I know I have had some problems with fungus gnats on and off, but today, I noticed one of my small meyers dropped into the pot. When I lifted it out, I noticed about 10 bugs in varying sizes and shades. The biggest was grey, and was big enough for me to think it looks a whole lot like springtails. The other smaller ones were ligher in color, and too small to tell, but I think it's those to.

They were running all over the lemon on the side that was facing down towards the soil, but when I disturb to soil, I see nothing. I read that fungus gnat larvae will tend to flock to a slice of potatoe left on the soil surface...maybe this is a similar behaviour?

Anyways, everything I read says they are rather benign etc.....but they make my skin crawl, I want them gone. My soil is, to top it all off, dry dry dry!

The last time I had troubles with STs was years and years ago in my Afr. Violets. : (

I also had these bugs in my soil. I poured a weak solution of liquid sevin through the soil and have not had a problem since. This was last year around this time.
