Hi, I have a tree that is about 10 years old that had some branch dieback lower down on the trunk a few years ago. It makes the overall appearance of the tree very uneven and I was wondering if I could force new shoots by cutting off the 1/4" nubs where the branches were pruned. If I cut it back so that the cambium is exposed, will it sprout or just heal the wound? Thanks.
