Is there more than one form of Improved Meyer?

I have encountered trees from three growers and have noticed a difference in the hardwood bark. Trees from one grower always have bark that is the color of sand with no green whatsoever. The others have bark that is light gray/brown with green streaks, like that of normal citrus trees. The difference does not seem to be attributed to whether a tree is grafted or not. Sorry - no pics.

What you may be seeing is the tree trunk stretching out. I've noticed that trees that are growing rapidly will show this. There is an Improved Meyer, and a Meyer. One is supposedly free from virus than the other. They are identical.. Stay warm this week!..Scott

Junglekeeper, Scott is correct. Actually there is only one type of Meyer lemon anywhere. The old Meyer lemon and the improved Meyer lemon are exactly the same tree. The" improved" Meryer is just a virus free version. - Millet

So which is the one that is growing faster and stretching out - the one with the streaks or without the streaks?
