Yea, we have already been wetter than normal. We are just now getting our first dose of colder weather--it went straight from summer (highs 80s-90s lows 70s) to winter (highs in 60s lows 30s-40s)--no fall!

The real benefit of El Nino to us is the lack of hurricanes! YEAH!

Interesting idea, the problem would be that the cold water would want to sink--the reason it is deeper in the first place is because it is more dense. Maybe if it were mixed with some surface water and sprayed, maybe it would have enough time on the surface to have some effect.

Pumping cold water up would also warm the deeper water. If one is concerned about rear or exotic animals this may be a problem. Also the energy used to do the pumping would heat up the atmosphere, or water. Then depending on how the energy is provide, CO2 would be released which may be a concern if one is concerned about global warming.
