Hi !
My name is Lionel , I live about 40 km north of Montpellier, 50 km from the mediterranean Sea.
I grow some citrus with more or less success . The conditions are hard. In summer the temperature reaches 40°C in the shade (104°F) , and winter is exceptionally down to - 19°C (-2°F)... and the water with which I water is hard...
I have most of my plants in containers, and some in the ground since last spring .
Candidates "suicide" are : Citrange Rusk Citrumelo Berti , Poncirus trifoliata Fliying Dragon and a hybrid between Poncirus trifoliata and changsha.
I am particularly interested in hardy , edible citrus , and if they're tasty , this is paradise!
I will sow in the ground hardy cold rootstocks that I'll graft over in a few years .
I am also interested in the breeding work done in Eastern Europe , whether in Sochi , as well as by many fans especially Russians and Czechs .

I am delighted to enjoy the many experiences, and I will share my citruses adventures ...

Good culture at all, that your citrus provide you many pleasures that give me mine !

Welcome, Lionel. Wow, you some extreme temperatures where you live! It would be a challenge to grow citrus, especially with your lows. Look forward to what you're able to share with us, in how you manage growing citrus!
