Yesterday I was sitting in our sunroom reading and my father was in the living room when we heard that awfull sound of a car flipping that we have all heard and hate. My mother had just left on our golf cart so it automatically scared me thinking she had got hit. I was barefooted and ran as fast as I could and jumped what was left of our barbwire fence and pulled the guy out of the wreckage because he was bleeding profusely and the car was still running upsidedown on its roof, although its hard to believe how it was. My mother pulled up at that moment and shes a nurse so she started to tend to him. I took my shirt off because he was gushing blood. What happened was I think he fell asleep and hit our mailbox and it startled him and he yanked the wheel and came across the road and hit the imbankment and started flipping until he hit the pinetree where we keep the cows (I'm glad there wasn't any of them around at the moment, that would have been messy, MOOOOO LOL) about 20' in the air. When we were cleaning up the wreckage I found one of the headlight assemblies about 50 yards down the hill and our mailbox got disentigrated when the car hit it. The guy took such a hard hit on the head he didn't know where he was or what happened until about 30 minutes later. He had been working two jobs trying to take care of his wife and kids and from what his wife said he never sat down he was a workaholic so he was extremely tired. Thank God he had health insurance so he went to the hospital) Anyway, I just thought ya'll would be interested in these pictures and the guy turned out to be ok except for the major gash in his hand that you could see the tendens and the hit to the head. Please people drive slow when you are going somewhere. Give yourself time and stop trying to make time on the road. LEAVE EARLY.
If you zoom in on the picture you will see where the car's original tracks are when it ran off the road. Look at the big chunk of earth that it took away. Look right in front of the van and you will see it.
The car was originally upsidedown and underneath the pine tree but the wrecker moved it before I took the picture. Look how far up it hit.
The guy standing up is my father and the guy kneeling is our neighbor.
Picture of the car after they moved it from underneath the tree and flipped it back over on its wheels.
Look at that big chunk out of the tree. That is where the front of the van hit cause you can see the oil spots on the tree.
