Barbara, I have room for at least two more in ground trees. The greenhouse was first built for the farm to germinate and develop plants that were then transplanted out into the farm fields. We no longer grow those types of plants, now all the fields are planted into wheat. Because the farm no longer needs the greenhouse, I have taken it over as my hobby greenhouse. The citrus trees that were already planted in the greenhouse soil are now fairly good size trees, approximately 11-ft. tall X 10 to 12 ft. wide. The Pomegranate takes up one complete bay. I want to be sure at least to have one tree of each of the main citrus types (Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Satsuma, Kumquat). Then with the space remaining, a couple cultivars that my wife and I particularly enjoy. I should wind up with 11 in ground trees,, plus all the misc. stuff. - Millet (292 BO-). |

Well, Millet, your next option could then be to compete with Joe Real for a 100+ in one tree to keep some additional variety! I bet it would be the only one in Colorado! I wonder how Joe is doing, anyway. ...and the tree. I think I remember him saying that he and his family moved, and that he is renting the house where the tree is. I wonder how well it is being cared for. It seems as though he has been busy the past couple of years.
Hope he is doing well...

Babara, I sent Joe Real a letter to his E-mail address a while back and never received an answer. Strange. - Millet( - 290 BO-) |

Millet, I saw Joe at the Sacramento scion exchange on Jan 22. He seemed fine and gave me a bottle of his wine.
