New OJ Commercials Feature the Product

LAKELAND -- New TV commercials for OJ from the Florida Department of Citrus favor simplicity itself, opening with a stream of bright orange juice cascading in a glass a shot used previously at the end of the commercial followed by the simple image of someone drinking OJ and a narrative extolling its healthy properties.
The new TV ads tested far above other alternatives proposed by the Richards Group, the department's Dallas-based advertising agency, including humorous takes on the 2008 presidential campaign and a slow-motion battle over an OJ glass mimicking instant replays in sports.
"The pour is very powerful. It's very visually motivating. It reinforces the simplicity of orange juice," said Lance Miceli, a Richards Group executive told the Florida Citrus Commission at its meeting Wednesday.
