Well I did it and it's more than I expected. More technically, it is avocado liquor, but more on that later.
I hosted Christmas Eve Party at our house, 16 families came, and together with ours, there were about 50 people, adults and kids. We temporarily converted our 3-car insulated garage into an instant party space, kids in the garage doing their kid stuff, and the big ones in the rest of the house most especially in the convertible room addition. We kept the door to the garage open directly into the kitchen, and so it was heated nicely. All people fitted quite nicely, with plenty of room to spare, we could accommodate perhaps 25 more people,
Just telling you folks we can accommodate most of you in our modest house when it comes to parties.
I've had more than 20 kinds of wines out, but I think we only got to 10 of them as everyone got really interested in the avocado liquor. So the winner hands down is Avocado Liquor, followed by Ginger-lemon grass wine, then by Apple-cinnamon wine, Blueberry-cranberry-plum, and Cabernet Sauvignon, and also the rest of the other wines... No Calamondin wine served today, they have been packed and stored for the citrus forum moderators or admin. It must have been a winner too.
So to cut the wine story, here's the recipe:
Joe Real's Avocado Liquor.
1 can sweetened condensed milk , about 14 oz
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 ripe Hass avocado
4 cups Black Velvet Canadian whiskey.
optional spices
Cut avocado, throw away seed, scoop out the green stuff and dump into blender. pour 4 cups whiskey, your optional spices, place 1 cup vanilla ice cream. Don't turn on the blender yet. Open the can of condensed milk completely and scoop it out into the blender, believe me, it faster this way. Now turn on the highest settings on your blender, keep it on for 2 minutes or until you have a uniformly fine consistency.
To serve, place about 3 to 4 ice cubes on each wide mouth glass, and pour about a quarter full. Have your guests melt the ice for five minutes, then twirl the ice in the glass and start imbibing. For those who find the mixture too strong or too sweet, you can pour milk to your liking, but twirl with ice and drink.
