Hi, I'm from Malaysia. My friend gave me some citrus fruit but I don't know its name. It has no seed. Can somebody help me identify this citrus species? Thank you.

That is one interesting fruit I have no clue what it is looks kind of like a big lemon but if so it should be yellow, it could be a lime though. I am not really familiar with citrus from Malaysia, maybe someone with more knowledge can help. Very interesting though would be neat to have a tree of one of them

How big is the fruit?
I think this is a Malaysian Lemon. Perhaps unripe, perhaps a hybrid with some other citrus (lime?).
Lemons generally don't do well in truly tropical conditions, where they tend to be replaced by limes.
In Malaysia there is a variety grown in the highland areas which tends to be almost cylindrical, rather like your fruit, although not exactly like your picture. However, the same variety can look very different when grown in different climatic zones.
All the photos below are from web-sites about seedless Malaysian lemons.

What do you think?

Thanks valenciaguy and citrange...yes i think it is indeed a seedless Malaysian lemon because it turns yellow when it ripe..same as the photo. Mine is around 9 - 11 cm in length. In Malaysia some people name it "crocodile's egg lemon' but I don't know..I have not seen a real crocodile's egg before ...have you?

thanks a lot
