Hi everyone,
I've got a few last yuzu and Palestine sweet lime seeds ( they are still in the fruit so they are fresh). I am looking for flying dragon or other trifoliate seeds, amongst other things. Anybody interested?
Thanks. |

Can someone from out of state send citrus seed to CA? Seems like I would know, but I don't.

"except seed" is what I see... So I assume seed is ok ?

Hi Charlie, I would love some seeds - mostly yuzu. I planted yuzu's from 1 fruit someone sent me & none grew. I have some P. Trifoliate seedlings that are 4 inches high or so that I could ship. ..planted in late Nov.
How the hell will anyone know what it is??? Let me know.

Hey Garnet, haven't seen you in awhile! I'd be willing to ship my seedlings anywhere in the world! Just box 'em up & how will they know?
If they open box & see them, what could they do other than throw them away, but why would they open it?
I sent key lime seeds to someone in Netherlands cuz he couldn't get any there... don't know if it's legal or not. I can see it for commercial grown plants, but just for someone who wants to grow at his home? Just seems stupid to me. _________________ Patty

Well, if youve got your return address on it. thats a decent motivation
I lived in CA last year and heard something interesting from their NPR channel.... some kind of grape pest is threatening the industry and they had a quarentine line in-state. IIRC, it was a pest brought in on ornamentals or houseplants or something... so I just worry.
Did i move into the state with a few potted plants? yes. the Ag inspection station wasnt open so i just drove past it. but I worry. Not juding you, just saying I wouldnt risk it. |

The grape pest is Glassy Wing Sharpshooter. It can suck a grapevine dry. I hope it doesn't develop a taste for citruses. |

The glassy winged sharpshooter is the vector for pierce's disease. The sharpshooter is part of the problem but it is really pierce's disease. Sharpshooters don't damage citrus or damage grapes other than to spread pierce's disease. That is why you can't grow vinifera grapes in most of Texas and the whole southeast and why muscadines are grown instead. PD could spell the end of California vinifera wine grape growing. |
