I emailed the guy wondering about leftover mini-citrus. He did state the minimum order is normally 25, but I KNOW someone here ordered from him once. I cant find the rating on Garden Watchdog anymore.
Dont know if anyone wants to go in on a batch order, but ive got the list if you want me to email or post it. |

Over the years buying and growing citrus trees, I must say IN MY OPINION the Tree Source, LLC had the worst liners I have ever purchased or I have ever seen. In an effort o be fair, this could possibly be due to the fact that their retail tree sales come only at the end of the commercial season. By the time that Tree Source offers their liner trees to the general public they are tightly root bound and trapped in the small trainer sleeves that they propagate in. I only paid $5.50 to $7.50 per tree, but they were not even worth that. Besides the poor root system, their training of the T-bud graft, is terrible, growing off in every direction. However, they possibly could be used to cut a piece of budwood, for further growing on. Keep in mind this is only my opinion. - Millet |

Millet, do you have another source for liners? There don't seem to be many that will ship...
Sorry to hear they aren't good, I was thinking of getting some... maybe their citripots are better?
Thanks!

I know Millet doesn't suggest this company which means there's about a 99% chance I won't order from them, but I have to admit that their selection is tempting. It really sucks that you have to order a minimum of 25 trees because I would be willing to give them a shot for 4 or 5 particular varieties that I cannot seem to find all sold togather at any one particular nursery. I was bored last night and made a list of the 25 I would get if I had to buy from them... Anyways, are there any other suppliers/wholesalers out there that have a selection like that that actually ARE worth the money? There are just several particular varieties that I would like to get that I cannot seem to find at any nurserys online. I know I could likely contact Four Winds with a special order but I do not even want to think about what that would cost...
Thanks,
Joe |

I've always been in the market for a good liner, at least a few thousand of them a year, just in order to save space in the greenhouses and save a lot of time.
I ordered from them "Once" only about 400 liners though.
I'm still back to growing our own seed and budding our own inventory |

Turtleman how was your experiance with Tree Source? It is so tempting to just man up and get the 25 because of their incredible variety but I seriously do not have the room for 25 more citrus trees right now (reguardless of how small they would be initially). Just about every citrus variety I have and could ever want is on their list somewhere... The only thing I was curious about that I didn't see on their website is any blood mandarins, but they seem impossible to find anyways unless you are in the know.
Thanks,
Joe |

My experience was, we did it "Once" and never again.
I added it to my list of "The largest mistakes of my life"
In conversation with other growers and nurserymen if Tree Source comes up, everyone always seems to get a scared look on there face, with raised eyebrows before they just hang their head low and shake it back and forth.
I'm still in the market for allot of liners each year to save time and space, but we still grow our rootstock from seed and bud |
