Hi,

I'm new to this forum and have a Sanguinelli blood orange as well as a Meyer lemon. The Meyer lemon is probably 10 - 12 years old and came with the house. It has white and black fuzzy spots on the backsides of older leaves. The tree also has red mites.

I would like to know what is the best time and pesticide to apply for control of red mites. Also, what is causing the fuzzy spots on the back of the leaves? Are they related to the mites, or another problem that should be addressed separately.

Thanks for any help you can offer,

edit: pest not disease

The stuff on the back of the leaves look like scale.

You can spray anytime now. Best time to spray is at dusk. You never want to spray in the heat of the day & never when temps are above 90 F.

Malathion and oil worked great! Not much was required, either. Very Happy

Thanks for the ID, I'll know what to look for next time.
