Makes a huge tree which tends to be shy-bearing at first. Fruit on the scion may be somewhat smaller than they would be on other stocks, and they often mature about 2 weeks later than they would on other stocks. Once fully mature, scion fruit tend to be of high quality.

Cleo has excellent tolerance to all of the common viral diseases. It is unusually susceptible to phytophthora root rot.
