I wouldn't use this on steaks, just chicken or seafood.
Benny, I buy those store bought tortillas too & the secret to making them soft is, warm them & put damp paper towels over & between them. Restaurants usually serve them warm which makes them softer.

Patty:
I second with Westwood. Your recipe sounds so delicious I am saving them to my special folder. And you can bet that I am going to try them very soon. Today in fact since I went to the produce market yesterday and bought all the ingredients. I was also the last customer there all salesgirl were just waiting for me to finish because they were closing early because of the rally that was going on.
Thank you so much Patty.

Benny, What RALLY was going on?
Thank you for the compliment...I worked in food & beverage business most of my life & picked up a lot of tips on the way. I got many tips from great chefs too. I can look at a recipe & tell if it's good or bad & then add my own thing...a lot of trial & error but that's how I learned.
One thing I know is, DON"T grill skinless chicken breasts. Keep the skin on to hold the juice in, or white meat often dries out. It doesn't make more calories...just don't eat the skin. However, I DO cuz I like crispy skins & crispy pork fat....any chef will say to eat that with the meat (unless you are on a strict doctor's diet).
I gotta say that tonight I made my marinated chicken (oil, lime, jalopenos, garlic, onion, cilantro, salt..in that order) for 24 hrs or so, tonight on the grill & my son went nutso over it. He ate 5 pieces... What a PIG! Forget strict recipes & do it by what you like.
Don't ever marinade seafood/fish for more than 1 hour!

Hi Patty:
Oh, here in California all Mexican stores were closed to show their solidarity with the illegal immigrants in this country. And the produce market I went was owned and operated by Mexicans. It's all over California and I think it was in the news countrywide. There were rallies in San Jose, San Francisco or even in Los Angeles. A lot of Mexican school children did not attend school.
Anyway, I have one full chicken cut into bite size being marinated with the above recipe. And I already tried your Vodka Orange last night and I was out like a light. ( I am going to let my wife taste them tonight) and my kids will have a chicken treat tonight also. Now I am just thinking will one chicken be enough? My kids eat like a so much. 3 humburgers each when we eat outside. I guess teenagers are growing so fast they need those calories.
Thanks Patty. You are a doll. And those tips I already jot it down pat.

Patty:
My kids really love your chicken marinade. I marinate the chicken overnight and grilled them last night. After karate practice the grilled chicken was ready and they ate their hearts out. Me too. Everybody says it was so good!.
Then late niight I tried your orange vodka and again I had two glasses and was again out like a light. Forgot to watch the American Idol again.
I should have put on top of the chicken Betty's Salsa but next time I will.

Betty: I am preparing now to taste your recipe Shrimp with Gusto. I already made the avocado guacamole with my carnitas burittos and my kids love it again.

Thanks to both of you.

Benny
