Hi everyone,i have been busy experimenting with different mixes to grow
dwarf citrus in.I am using inorganic components mixed with organic ones.
However,to date i have had the best success with "orchid mix" which is
made up of chunky pine bark(coarse) with slow release citrus fert.
Two of my trees seem to love the aeration,it drains really well.
Doesnt stay soggy.I am working on the priincipal of keeping it on the dry to
moist side,so the roots can colonize the pot as soon as possible, which i
believe will prevent soil colapse in the future. It never stays soggy.
Has anyone else had success with this mix.My reason for using
this mix is we get so much rain. I am thinking of mixing in some perlite
and some medium pumice next tree i grow.
Happy growing.
