Hello. I am wondering if anyone may have some ideas as to why my orange tree isn't producing this year? Last year it was full of oranges by this time.

It looks perfectly healthy and gets plenty of water, but it has only produced about 5 oranges so far this year and has hardly any blooms. I live in a very moderate temp. zone and it has not frosted this year. I did do a little pruning earlier in the fall but I don't think that affected it too much. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Lisa

Hi Lisa, Welcome!
Pruning may have affected it. Also, your tree may be concentrated on putting out new root growth. My citrus fruit different times every year, sometimes hardly anything sometimes a lot. Are you fertilizing?

What kind of orange is it. I have found a couple of mine seem to be alternate bearers. I get one year of huge amounts of fruit followed by a year of a light crop. My minneola seems to be the worst with this.
