Does anyone know what this bug is? It is on my Aloe plant. It is 2 plants away from my tree. Would be nice if it is a beneficial!

I don't know but it sure is colorful!!! You should be photographer for National Geographic....great pics!!!

Looks like a type of longhorn beetle Leptura quadrifasciata

Yes that's it. It is a longhorn beetle.Thank you. Here are a couple of sites that shows a picture exactly like mine.

What did you order that you think it came in with? According to http://www.eckerd.edu/aspec/tui/insect_order_species.htm#Soldier
under LONGHORN beetle not soldier beelte it is listed as a beneficial insect.
