I have a WaterFarm hydroponic pot http://www.greenfire.net/hot/H500.html
I want to start some citrus cuttings. Would the hydroponic pot be any better than sand or soil? Would it be any worse?

Hi Terry. I would assume it would work very well. Joe sent me a link to a little device I think I am going to try out after Christmas. Have a look http://www.killerhydro.com/hydro/aeroponics2.asp?ItemNo=Aagri

I'm just getting into hydroponics. But here's my take on the 2 styles of pots.
The WaterFarm hydroponic pot http://www.greenfire.net/hot/H500.html cost me about $50 at a hyropontic store. The top is 9 1/2 in sq. and you can put the cutting anywhere on the 9 1/2 x 9 1/2 top.
The hydro pots at this site http://www.killerhydro.com/hydro/aeroponics2.asp?ItemNo=Aagri
seem so be much more expensive and tell you where to put the cutting.
ThatÂ’s just an observation from the site pic. It's hard to tell much about the size of the pots.

It wouldn't really matter if you don't want the plants to live there for a long time, that is, if you just want the plants to have roots and then plant them elsewhere. Thanks for the link to the cheap setup.

I have a setup that is very cheap. One plastic rectangular box from Target, about 8 inches deep, then an aquarium air pump and bubbler. Costs less than $15.00 to setup. We used this on a science fair for my kids to illustrate how easy it is to start your sweet potato very early from the roots just before spring time. I threw in a couple of calamondin cuttings in there, but never rooted. Temperature of the garage was between 45 to 55 deg F though.
