The leaf miners and scab ran me crazy this year and I am determined to get on top of them both before the Spring blossom time. Is it safe for me to mix horticultural oil (Volck) and copper together to spray with? I want to hit all of the orchard and container trees so it would safe a lot of time and effort if I didn't have to make two passes.

But if it's a bad idea then I'll do them seperately.

They should be okay and help each other out. The oil would tend to help the copper stick longer.

Malathion and other insecticides usually don't go well with copper. They will tend to lose effectivity when combined.

What you want to avoid at all cost is mixing oil with lime sulfur. It can literally burn trees. They should not be applied 10 days of each other.

Thanks for the word about oil/copper.

I suppose it's not really here nor there, but what does one use lime-sulfur for with citrus anyway?

I'm really hoping to put a dent in the leaf miners this coming year. They messed up a lot of foliage this year, more than I've ever seen them do before.

Lime sulfur is another fungicide that are used to control canker and Peach Leaf Curl, and other type of prunus diseases. They are used on Peaches, plums and roses. they are not recommended on apricots.
