Few years ago, I tried growing Manila Mango from La Verne Nursery.
It died.

Last year, I saw another Manila Mango plant someone had planted on his front lawn near our house. I kept my eye on it, but it's no longer there.

Anyone growing mango in Southern California? If so, what variety. And where did you purchase it?

Any of the aforementioned varieties should work. Put them in the hottest part of your yard and make sure that they don't get frosted. Mango likes about as much heat as you can give them.
