Does anyone know what the term "Sodea" means in the context of the tree's name?

The only thing I have found out about the word, as it applies to the tree is:....

The Sodea designation is for the governmental organization (Morocco) that provided the trees....

But that does not really tell me anything about the meaning. Moroccan speak Arabic, but using a Arabic translation to English only gives back the same word "Sodea".

Also "Fina" and the word "Sodea" are not in the dictionary. I assume that Fina might mean "Fine". Some citrus varieties are called "Fina" and others have been given the designation "Double Fina"

I think it's an acronym for the org, nothing more.

I think you are 100% correct. Looks like the Society ships 60,000 tons of citrus /year, plus raisins and other agricultural products. The extended translation of a Fina Sodea Clementine = Finest Society Of Agriculture Clementine. Thanks for clearing this up. - Millet(436-)
