Here is a picture of the block that I made to help in cutting budwood-- it is like a third hand and helps keep you from cutting yourself.

I like the way it works for me-- you can use both hands on the cutting blade for part of the cut and then grab hold of the bud just before finishing the cut.

That's good Skeet, then if the blade slips, it will only hit the wood & not a finger.

Thanks Patty,

It is real easy to make-- all you need is a small block of wood and drill 3 holes--1/8 --3/16-- and 1/4 inch to hold the various sized budwoods.

I did not think of it until I had finished the ones I did here at home-- but I did use it at my sisters' and I really liked the control it adds to cutting the buds.

BTW-- So far I nave only lost 5 of the 42 here -- none at one of my sisters--don't know about the others.
