Actually I tried to register at Agrumes Passion, but my membership was never confirmed... I do often read the forum but my French isn't good enough to take part in conversations. But still I want to become a member, because I don't have access to all features of the board right now. Maybe you can help?
Nice to know a new book is coming, I will certainly buy it when it becomes available! I hope to visit Bachès one day also, but I find it a bit too far to drive all the way to the pyrenees _________________ - Marc |

The closest book written in English, is titled "Citrus Varieties Of The World" by James Sauant. The book is an illustrated guide with full color pictures of all the established high quality citrus varieties in commercial cultivation around the world, and further expanded to incorporate 50 varieties to reflect changes in production over the last decade. The author has also included citrus root stocks, and describes their main features as they affect fruit quality and other horticultural characteristics. James Saunt, the author, has experience in the field of citriculture, and the produce industry, which covers 40 years. - Millet (750-) |

It's not always that easy... In Belgium we have two main languages (Dutch, or rather Flemish, and French). 3 actually if you add the German speaking part. We learn each others language in school, but that doesn't mean we speak it! It's what makes politics in Belgium so hard...
So many different languages in Europe... Life in the USA must be a lot easier in this respect.
...but we're getting off topic here... _________________ - Marc |

In France we have french, flemish (flandres du sud), breton (celtic),
occitan (latin), catalan (latin), Basque (unknown origin), savoyard (latin) and alsacien (german)...
Might have forgotten some more...
In USA they have languages from the whole world. |

I didn't know that, although it doesn't surprise me that a big country like France has many regional languages. But all those people probably speak French too? Flemish has a lot of regional differences too. _________________ - Marc |

I have that book too, and it's very good indeed. A bit pricey though if you look at the wrong places. It's going for more than $100 on eBay, but it can be had for £30 + shipping, directly from the publisher. _________________ - Marc |

Hello Marc and Sylvain,
I registered for membership in Agrumes Passion a few days ago and I got it confirmed almost immediately. Unfortunately the link (www.agrumes-passion.com) doesn't seem to work realiable. Did you make the same experience?
By the way, concerning languages in Europe I can add something . In Germany we have completly different northern- and southern-German dialects, Danish (minority), Sorbs (slavic minority). This is sometimes also very exhausting to listen to people from other parts of the country.
Many greetings,
Norbert |
