You will be seeing this sometime in the future as Dormus wholesale nursery in Warren, Tx has a 3 gallon plant they discovered from seed. I was out there last week. |

Hi Laaz,
I have UCR budwood for the Centinnial Variegated Kumquat. I am sure you probably already have it though.
Let me know if you need. _________________ citrusboy aka marc

Hi Terry. That is common with Trifoliata. All of my Trifoliata does that on the new growth (standard & Flying dragon). I don't know what causes it, but once the seedlings are a few years old it stops.
It is not variegated or abuse... |

OK Laaz, Since Trifoliate can De-color how do you know when its variegated? Heres another one that has started.

Terry I don't know what the cause is. It may be a mineral deficiency in the soil. It only affects the new rowth though & then turn green after a few weeks.
The variegated variety has solid color differences. You can see one side of the leaf may be solid white (or yellow) and the other side can be solid green like these.
Heres a photo of my standard Trifoliata which has the same new growth as yours.
