There is this popular mith among portuguese farmers, that in order to obtain a red fleshed orange, you shoul graft in a Punica granatum rootstock...

Pigment issue aside, anyone heard of compatibility?

But it is so deeply rooted, as a mith, that just this morning, while we were harvesting olives, Mena, a helper, bragging about her grandmother's skill as a grafter, stated it ipsis verbis. Her own grandmother had done it...
