I'd like to know more about this variety. I've got a nice little S. Venasca from Czechia. . It has wonderful flowers and quite nice edible fruits which resemble fruits of US119. S. Venasca is said to be not very hardy. Who knows more?

It is said that frost tolerance of Vanesca is comparable to satsuma.
Some info from: http://www.steffenreichel.homepage.t-online.de/Citrus/lime8.pdf
"The second Segentrange, the selection 'Sanford Venasca' did not hold the cold tolerance as its sister, because survived only -5°C in a cold
tolerance screening test."

When you look at Mr. Cernoch webpage - you can see pictures of Sanford F2 Curafora fruits and also Sanford F2 Vanesca, when you click at names (they are at bottom of the page)

It was Mr Cernoch who kindly donated C. Venasca to me. Laughing

I know Very Happy

Here is Bernhard Voss answer to the Peter Broza question of "Vanesca origin" (year 2008):

"Hallo Petr,
Curafora und Venasca sind Sämlinge von Sanford Citrange, also F2
Hybriden-> SEcond GENeration CiTRANGE ->Segentrange abgekürzt.
Vaterteil= Pollenspender: Unbekannt!
Sanford Citrange ist eine der wenigen F1 Hybriden, die Zygote Samen bilden!
Gruß, Bernhard"

Translated (from german original):
Curafora and Vanesca are Sanford citrange seedlings , this is why marked F2 hybrids.
Segetrange means SEcond GEneration ciTRANGE.
Pollinator: unknown
Sanford Citrange is the only F1 hybrid with zygotic seeds.
