From a grapefruit they likely all are clonal. Normally, the zygotic (sexual) embryo dies out before seed maturity, leaving only the nucellar embryos. |

C. maxima (Pumelo) is monoembryonic not polyembryonic. The cross C. paradisi x C. maxima may have both monoembryonic and polyembryonic seeds, I have never tried them. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

I never tried to indentify zygotics and nucellars at this step : I prefer to make grow all the plants, and eliminate all bigger and smaller ones. But as Malcolm_Manners says, most of the zygotics has already probably died.
Most of Smaller plants on your pictures are probably not zygotics. They are smalls only because they has had to fight with the others for water and nutriments. |
