Sylvain, on which citrius you have found flower with 8 petals ?
Moi lemon, what is that?

What have captured my attention in the past was the number of petals of female/male flowers on my citrus i.e.
Meyer lemon: female flower has 5 petals, male has 4 petals.
Faustrime: female flower has 4 petals, male has 3 petals.

Now back to PT Siscia, Host tree this time: Photo 2011-04-22

One (and only noticed) flower with pedicel clearly visible, even leaf is there.

Basic information about sizes/dimensions of 'standard' (common?) Poncirus trifoliata:

"Poncirus is recognisable by the large 3-5 cm thorns on the shoots, and its deciduous leaves with three (or rarely, five) leaflets, typically with the middle leaflet 3-5 cm long, and the two side leaflets 2-3 cm long. The flowers are white, with pink stamens, 3-5 cm in diameter, larger than those of true citrus but otherwise closely resembling them, except that the scent is much less pronounced than with true citrus. As with true citrus, the leaves give off a spicy smell when crushed.
The fruits are green, ripening to yellow, and 3-4 cm in diameter, resembling a small orange, but with a finely downy surface."

Once upon a time Sylvain remarked Wink

Naah, as a kid I played with father's Geiger counter, found nothing meassurable.
However, something else could be going on:

Romans Siscia had thermae almost 2.000 years ago, that was a 1.5 km south from my place, basicaly city center since than.
We kids were aware of a small spot in swamp a few kilometers NE which never frozes.
A few decades ago a test drill has been done 1.5 km SWW, searching for oil/gas I guess but only hot water came out.

A caldera ? Shocked

The same song, very different performance:

Some people even say -12°C. But it is for the Moï cultivar. The one with big fruits.
Anyway, be care full when testing the hardiness, this citrus isn't very well known.

Of course Laughing, we in Mediterranean zone use inches (local people call that 'col' (german)) quite often, for plumber stuff and er - there are more but I can not recall hate-lookaround
