Hello from Vancouver, BC. A little over a month ago I got my hands on a yuzu tree and I've been trying to find a sudachi tree locally but to no avail. Infact, the yuzu tree find was a pure fluke as I found the last remaining stock at my local nursery.

I've been trying to find a sudachi tree as a backup and also to expand the different selection of citrus trees around...

Anyways, I've found Four Winds Growers in Winters, CA but when I had contacted them about possibly getting a phytosanitary certificate I was more or less turned away. I have also contacted the AG inspector in Yolo county who is looking into it... as a matter of fact it maybe part of Solano county.

At the end of the day it seems like it probably won't go through anyway.

If anyone on this forum is aware of a seller whose willing to have the plants inspected, please let me know. It will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There are a couple of people who seem to have seed in the fall. Take you a couple of years to get fruit, but if you're willing to wait, they're around.

Sudachi is an excellent citrus. It is nothing like a Yuzu if that's what you are thinking, but a excellent quality hardy citrus.

I had someone suggest that I have it shipped to the nearest shipping depot and tell the border agents that it's a houseplant... any luck with this? or is this just a bad idea altogether

I would ask Greg, he has gotten quite a few citrus from the States.

Well, after realizing that I had exhausted all other options, I brought it across the border. No problems at customs which of course could have gone wrong at any point. Anyways, thanks for all your help
