Thanx for your info.

I tried to root mandarines, but never had success.
Maybe that seal helps, but here I often see waxed twigs wich look fresh, but are absolute dry inside.

It's the case in France with clementines from Spain and Corsica.
Last year I made a graft of clemenules with a piece of stem attached to a fruit from a store. I top grafted my nippon orangequat : fruit to bad ! Sad

I believe a light layer of wax or some type of sealant had been sprayed onto the product, possibly to prevent moisture loss in order to keep the leaves looking fresh. However this may not be any different from what regular fruit undergo; they also have some wax applied to them.

I noted the following on the label for a bag of Cuties fruit. This is the wax I was referring to.

Coated with food-grade vegetable, beeswax and/or lac-resin based wax or resin to maintain freshness.
