Oh Yuk, that looks so gross! I only have a 13 inch monitor so it takes awhile to see the whole (HUGE) pic. _________________ Patty

Sorry, I posted for 17 inch monitor, thought it would be small enough. I'll try to remember to go smaller. At least I stopped posting the 21 inch ones , oopsy. I take it though that you got an up close and personal viewing. Thanks for the input.
I still have a couple of manits that have remained on the tree. The others have taken off, no more psyllids to eat I guess. I'll put some more out. And I gues I'll go to Home Depot and see if they have any Ladybugs, just incase.
Wierd thing though, everything I have found still shows them (mealy) as being white and this is ( before I burned it with a lighter, now it's black) brown/tan. I just hope it isn't. I've heard they are NASTY.
Thanks again. _________________ Disneygirl |

My goodness Disney, you sure are having your share of nasty pests lately!
Good thing you find them right away & knock 'em out. _________________ Patty

I know my poor tree. My husband thinks I'm husband teases me and shakes his head and laughs because of how many times a day I go out and check on the tree (and my other plants too). You know, if I did not check on it as often as I do, I can't (DO NOT WANT TO) imagine what my tree would be like. I am amazed at how many things come aroung so quickly and often. I just wrote in the "orange dog" posting that I had just taken 8 DG eggs off the tree (yesterday) and a couple of days ago I had removed more.
Does anyone else feel guilty when they get bugs, like you haven't dont enough to care for it. I relly feel like my plants are like an extension of my kids, in the fact that they are totally dependant on you to care for them and I take this to heart.
Thanks _________________ Disneygirl |

Actually they have hatched. It is posted on page 3 of "What the !#*@! (pysillids). The psyllids as far as I know are gone, haven't seen any. I had released then all over my garden. I still have a bunch in the cage and am feeding them twice a day. It is funny, then know when feeding time is. I bang the top of the cage every time to get them from hanging upside down on the screen top and they all run over to the piece of fruit I keep replacing in the same spot on the bottom of the cage and wait for me to release the flies there. They have really gotten big since they hatched. I also ended up with 2 different mantids. The first that hatched is chinese and the second is not. They are bigger and the green is really coming out. There are a few of them that they are sooo green. My daughter likes to pick them up and you should see them jump, wow they are quick. Good thing my daughter is quicker. I do not feed them without her by my side, even though I have a stick to get them back in the cage when the occassional one gets out, and she also checks me to seee if there is any on me that I don't know about. Had it happen once and ooops, that one lost it's life, as I freaked out. Felt really quilty after all the tingling, headache and entire body chill went away.
I'll send address again.
Thanks. _________________ Disneygirl |
