While on a trip through the woods came I upon two PTrif loaded with ripe oranges. I gathered all that I could carry and will go back to get more if the need arises. I would like to offer these first to the forum members that assisted me when I needed seed and stuff to get started again after the devestation of my citrus by the storms. After that is done I would like to offer any remaining to any one in the forum in need of seed. You know who you are that assisted me. If you need seed email me and I shall get them on the way. David

David I think those are Citrange's, Trifoliata should have fuzzy fruit with no shine to them. Also look at the elongated center leaf.

That is what I though also. The elongated leaf in the center makes me think this is not PTrif. Also no fuzz.....and They are a tad bigger than most PTrif. I can not imagin what they would be doing growing in the woods. I find lots of PTrif growing wild in the woods but have never found any like this. Two trees next to each other.................Dont know what to think.....................David

This tree had 12 of these on it. They are about the size of a naval. The tree is about 15 feet tall with multiple trunks. Some leaves are single and some are Tri leaves...very dark green. If I had to guess I might say that this reminds me of Carrizo. Not having much experience in very many rootstocks I am unsure. Again I wonder what this is doing many hiking hours into the woods. No homeplace anywhre here for miles. Have a look and see what you think.

But.............it does not taste as bad as PTrif..............does not have that thick bitter wang. The juice is not as sticky and not as hard to get off your hand as the juice in PTrif. The peel is full of oil but its pretty light oil with a good citrus smell to it. It could be eaten and enjoyed if you were stranded and had not food for a long time. I think you could squeeze the juice and add enough sugar to make it drinkable but.....................I dont think the average fellow would want to eat one of these.................David

A little poking around on the web makes me think that is Carrizo. Swingle seems more elongated.
