Joined this forum b/c I am new to citrus gowning and have a lot to learn. I picked up some Satsumas from Stan McKenzie last week and he told me to check out this site.

My 2 trees will winter over in the garage and come out in March, when I hope to get them going in a nice comfortable location.

My experience is from gardening in the colder climates of NJ, where I grew peach trees, plum trees, grapes, fig trees and a large vegetable garden.

I had connected a fertigator to my irrigation system in NJ and the difference in production was unbelievable. In the spring, I will add irrigation to my property and connect the fertigator once again.

Welcome to the forum. Being you're up in the Greenville area you are going to need some winter protection.

Welcome, mcsincnj. You'll find lots of great information as well as excellent citrus advice here on the forum. We have several members who live close to your area, Laaz being one. You'll get great advice for winter protection methods, so your trees make through the winter. Let us know more about your fertigator system, I'd be very interested in knowing how you set it up. I am considering doing that with two of my sprinkling stations, that water all my citrus and avos.

Welcome to South Carolina and welcome to Citrus growing. I must warn you, it can become addictive and then you will be termed a "Citruholic'! Smile
