Barranquilla - Representatives of AILIMPO visited the laboratories of citrus research at the Institute of Food and Agricultural Development to know on the first hand the genetic research on regional citrus production.

Angel García from AILIMPO and Adrián Martínez from IMIDA met to see the ways of work and projects of national and regional research in the areas of genetics, machinery, irrigation, water sources among others. Additionally, the IMIDA presented the Agricultural Information Service of the Region for the fertilization and irrigation process of the lemon.

One of the main researches will be the diagnosis of the Verna variety to the fruit fly. Approved recently by the USDA-APHIS.

IMIDA will received new proposals and will initiate new projects based on those.
