I have another surprise this morning. When I looked at my Fuji apple, I noticed a bunch of different looking apple in one branch at about 9 feet high. It looks entirely different than the rest of the apples around it. These ones are already ripe it seems whereas the fuji's are still adolescents.

Here's another ones on two separate branches. There were no tags on others but here it was too high to see so I don't know the variety yet until I get me a tall ladder and read the tag.

the newly dug bananas came from the half circled bricks.
My kids dug the bananas and installed the bricks afterwards so the weeds won't grow. They also mixed concrete and poured them in front of the pic so the weeds won't grow again. We'll be doing this more as days go by.

Notice that my backyard is taking shape. Notice also the Fuji apple on the right side of pic and the pippin apple fruit on top right that was grafted to it last year. Both trees are compatible. I was able to make one apple pie last year I grafted on another tree. Maybe two this year? To think that that branch was a watersprout that was put to good use. (I learned this from Joe Real). I am taking advantage with my kids during this school vacation. But Monday two of them are starting their first ever job. Working at McDonalds'. But their jobs are cashier or standing at the door greeting the customers.

This apricot was grafted to a watersprout of my plum tree that grew alongside of the main trunk. But this watersprout was always on the way when I tried to harvest my lemons so I cut all the watersprouts around the tree. Then, my problem now was what I would do to the newly grafted apricot that was cut together with the watersprout branches since I wanted to save the apricot scion. So I thought I'd experement a little. I cut the stem of the plum where this apricot is grafted to and grafted it again to the same plum tree but at a branch higher at eye level. I am surprised that it took again.

and here's the branch. Double graft.

this is what my son kenneth did today. Prune drastically my Italian prune tree because there were millions of aphids clinging to the leaves. The leaves were black with soot. I also noticed that it had many scales under the leaves . The adjacent fuji apple tree was starting to have black leaves and plenty of aphids.
