I tried some chip budding a few weeks ago and it appears to have worked! 3 out of 4 took for sure, but even the one that did not match on one side still looks green.

I had Ponkan budwood I had cut and was planning on putting on the rooted trifoliate stocks I have, but the bark would not slip--even though the trees were flushing, so I decided to try chip budding. Great option when bark won't slip!
