I thought you could find this interesting:

"The Olive tree in Kastel Stafilic was planted during Roman times inside the villa rusticae, and today stands as a real testimony of those times. "

Olives are an incredibly useful, healthy fruit.

...if only they would taste good! Laughing
I hate olives, but I love the oil!

That is one beautiful specimen in that picture!
Unfortunately Millet's link doesn't seem to work...

Beautiful trees ivica and Millet. I would love to go to Jerusalem and see the olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane. Just to walk those steps. I have about 20 producing olive trees in my yard, mostly ringing the north section of my backyard. I really need to collect the olives and have them processed. Either pressed into olive oil or brined to eat. I think we have a company here in San Diego county that will do that for you. Have to check that out.

I have been to Israel, and to the Garden of Gethsemane. In the lnk provided in my above post, the white church seen behind the garden is a Russian Orthodox Church. The day I was there a Russian Orthodox Nun was standing at the gate. It was her 100th birthday. - Millet

Oh my gosh, that must have been a priceless experience, Millet. That would be a once in a lifetime trip for me. I would love to be able to go.
