What time of the year is best to take cuttings from Trifoliata? Is there any tick I should know of? I`m new to this.

Trifoliata is a pain to root. Takes months & has a high mortality rate. If you have a misting bench you would probably do better.

I had no trouble with my cuttings ... a bit long before setting root (6 to 8 weeks) but otherwise no problems. Coconut fiber and rooting hormone on bottom heat (70f). I should add that these and clear plastic covers during this root in phase for humidity.

Cheers, Barrie.

Bottom heat should help a lot. I'm lazy & just stick them in soil in a pot, no hormones or heat. Swingle on the other hand roots very quickly...

How would ya'll compare rooting poncirus trifoliata to rooting blueberries? I've never tried rooting poncirus trifoliata but have rooted rabbiteye blueberries before among numerous other plants and blueberries were among the harder of them, not hard but harder than the others. Probably the easiest plants I've tried rooting from cuttings were hydrangeas and tomatoes, especially tomatoes. Tomatoes develop roots from the hairs on the stems. If the stems stay moist for a while they will actually start developing air roots.
