I purchased a palm from walmart. Nothing special but an amazing tree even so,

Anyways, latly the tree tips on all the branhes hgave been yellowing and brown spots appearing on the branches. I cut off 3 big branches as I read to remove old and yellowing ones. But there are even more. What can I do to help it? Looking up at it, seems all tips have brown on them now. I cant replace it either as walmart doesn't sell them anymore So I REALLY want to save it

Is there any way you can post a picture?
It would help with the ID and what might be going on.....

This time of year with inside plants, either too wet or too dry causes the majority of problems, also scale insects will take up residence on a stressed plant.

You need to remember most palms are tropical plants. Heat & humidity and direct sun are very important for most palms. Coming from Walmart it is probably a Pygmy date palm or Majesty Palm. Both do much better with direct sun & high humidity.

I think a lot of the issue was the cold. Not thinking, I put it right in the window to get the light I figured was best... but the cold coming through the windows was too much... even though it is very warm and humid in the house. Still VERY cold outside. Just would hate to lose it... its still very close to the windows, just far enough from the cold
