I've read that dancy is a mid-season variety- when does it ripen for you?

In central Florida, it's usually ready a week or two before Christmas, and then reaches peak quality around the first of January. That means it is a couple weeks later than Ponkan, maybe 3-4 weeks later than Robinson, and at least a month earlier than Murcott.
