Huanglongbing (HLB). called the citrus greening disease, is a severe and widespread disease of citrus in Eastern Asia (Pakistan to China), South and Eastern Africa, Arabic Peninsula, islands of Reunion and Mauritius. In Africa, the disease has been reported in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malagasy, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zimbabwe . Now coming to a theater near you. - Millet

It is my understanding when the psyllid is found the usda gets involved and it hard to get permission to ship out of counties that are quarantined. It is also very difficult to get permission to ship out of state.

Sad but true Millet.

Susan, if you are thinking the guy probably knew better you are probably right. Unfortunatley, there are many people that would do that knowing it is illegal--I know a few that have brought illegal citrus into FL (because they are a few dollars cheaper in AL or LA). It's the "Regulations are for people that can't get around them" attitude.

I still think that education in conjunction with common sense regulations are the only defense. Why USDA and FL do not require point of sale notices or even a FL drivers license for purchase is beyond me-- I guess it is just too simple.
