Been promising to post some pics of this greenhouse operation I help out at, so here they are:

Some of the 250 transplants we did a few weeks ago.

Calamansi tree with lots of ripe fruit.

Two Key Lime trees blossoming.

View down one crowded aisle.

Buddha's hand

Pomelo tree with fruit

Grapefruit tree

Sour Orange tree I believe.

Got lots more that I'll post up later. These pics were taken about 2 weeks ago (15 C outside and sunny, probably closer to 30 C inside)

whoa... simply fascinating. poor pummelo tree. it's bending downwards due to fruit load extra weight. won't you help it out by adding some bamboo stalks or any kind of trellis? i bet you'll need to support the tree soon enough. pummelos can easily weight over 2 pounds. your grapefruit tree looks amazing, too, great job! Very Happy

Just talked to Tom and he said it got down to -6C in the area so he's had to start heating the greenhouse on the coldest days.

We're in a nice microclimate zone in South Burnaby so it hasn't gotten that cold here and my citrus in the portable greenhouse are doing fine with just a 42w CFL going 24/7 so far.

Anthony

No new pics yet but went down to Tom's greenhouse a couple of weekends ago to do some pruning and watering.

Have the four 8' wide by 10' tall frames built now for my own 16' long greenhouse. Now just need some decent weather so I can finish framing it, skin it with 6mm poly and then cover with polycarbonate for added strength & heat retention in the winter.

Going to plant in ground my Improved Meyers, Eureka, Calamansi, Red Haven Peach & Fuyu Persimmon. May also add a multi-species grafted tree from Tom if I ever make time to go learn how to graft.

Hope summer starts soon.
