Does anyone know how to remove the oil from oranges and lemons?
I want it to make a sugar scrub.

Thanks

I also Found this ,
Oranges are mentioned in ancient Chinese writings as early as 2400 BC, and like most citrus fruits, were heavily traded and widely popular as a food and a fragrance. It takes 1,000 lbs. of fresh oranges to make 10 lbs. of Orange Oil. Now Sweet Orange Oil is naturally cold-pressed from fresh orange peels. This essential oil is 100% pure.

Of course. I'll let you know as I do it. I've never made it before. I also want to make bathing salts with it. I have made that before, I just have to find the receipe that I used before and change it a bit.

unless youve got a perfume/ distillery rig, id say youre better off zesting the fruit and mixing the peels in. You can place the salts in a piece of stocking or toille fabric with a bow and reuse it if youre worried about the peels getting down the drain. the salt should dehydrate them, and the hot water will release the oils... just a thought for reducing labor and frustration!

Depending on the uses you have in mind this link may help you. This is not for anything edible but should work for bath salts and the like.

IIRC, that is an infused oil, not an essential oil. the essential is just from the flower, herb, etc. but infused is a carrier included. It should work beautifully for cosmetics tho either way Smile
