Hello Everone.... Very Happy

Just came back from Trader Joe's and they
had " PIxie Mandarins," The label said: " Cuties California
Manadarins," They were awesome 5 lbs for $6.99 . It was
worth it , I ate 4 in less than ten minutes, sweet, seedless
and juicy.........

Cheers......Joe... Very Happy

I had a similar box from Trader Joes couple weeks ago... but my "Cuties" said they were "Murcotts" and the fine print actually said "Afourer." There's so much confusion on their labeling because "Cuties" is a brand. I think they must be calling all manner of seedless mandarins "Cuties" depending on the month of production.

But I agree... they're easy to gobble down whole. Smile

By selling their fruit under the trade name "Cuties" rather than selling their fruit by variety name, the grower can simply ship whatever type of small clementine type mandarin that happens to be mature at the time. This also allows them to use the same retail packing. My guess is 99 percent of their retail customers never realize there is a difference, they just assume that they are always getting the same fruit all the time. Most people think they a just a box of Clementines. - Millet

The Cuties I've come across to date were all clementines. The marketing material mentions Early Clementines, Clemenules, and Late Mandarins. Notice the boxes and labels indicate clementines. Have a look at the following links:
Sun Pacific®
Cuties California Clementines®
