These were budded last fall and are some very nice trees. I'll take $45 each plus shipping. Great Italian lemons.

Oh, lovely, lovely Italian lemons, Laaz! I am so envious. I would love to have one! We are waiting for our Santa Teresa Feminello to produce for us, so we can try a batch of Limoncello with it, and compare it to our Meyer Lemon Limoncello. We're going to see if we have enough ripe lemons left from our unknown Italian lemon tree that has the ginormous lemons, and see how that does for Limoncello. I'll send you a bottle of our "high octane" Limoncello (made with 190 proof Everclear) for one of your lovely Italian lemon trees (if I could, I am supremely jealous)!!

Yes, I got the budwood from Gene last fall. Very quick growers. I am keeping two for myself & selling the other three. They should flower in the spring as they are about 2 1/2 ft tall already. I am going to try Lemoncello with the first batch. Laughing

I'll take one. Oh, wait. I live in California. Boo. Crying or Very sad If these are as nice as your first 3, someone is going to be very happy in lovely Italian lemons. Let me know how your limoncello turns out, btw!

I kept three from the first bunch & all three are full of blooms & small fruit. Looks to be a very productive lemon.

Well. I can only wish from afar. And, I don't even think I can get budwood here for this lemon variety, either. If you have any seeds, Laaz, I'd sure love them. Same for your Dekopon down the road?

Yes, in the collection, but not available in their screenhouse (yet). Here's the link to CCPP both screenhouse and early release varities:

http://ccpp.ucr.edu/budwood/forms/2012-Forms/2012-01-05-ScreenhouseFaxOrderForm%201-12.pdf

http://ccpp.ucr.edu/budwood/forms/2012-Forms/2012-01-05-EarlyReleaseFaxOrderForm%201-12.pdf

Unfortunately, UC Riverside Citrus Clonal Protection Program has had to put everything under screen now, as they are now no longer able to provide budwood from the Citrus Variety Collection. So, we'll have slim pickin's for budwood right now, as the CCPP takes on the task of putting all varieties under screen. So, for now, this lovely, gorgeous, Italian lemon is currently not available. Hopefully next year or year after, it might be.

Then what is: "Availability: Commercially available in California through the Citrus Clonal Protection Program"?

I got my budwood from CA.

It may not currently be under screen, Laaz. And, not all citrus are always available from year to year from CCPP. I've seen that statement on the UCR Citrus Collection site, got excited, then pulled up the the order form only to see that it was not being offered at that budwood cutting. So, I know some of the reason currently, is due to only being able to offer what is under screen, but in past years, not sure why some varieties are offered, and others that are labeled as being available, are not. But, I will ask this at my grafting class this spring, and see what the folks from CCPP have to say.

OK, that makes sense. I have no idea when the original tree was sourced. I got my budwood from Gene Lester in 2011.
