There is a big confusion about these 2 terms .. but my definition is the scientific one.

citrus maxima = citrus grandis = citrus decumana
2. Wikipedia as scientific source
Pomelo is just local word, in some countries for citrus grandis, in some countries for citrus paradisi, nothing less, nothing more.
For example, in my country we call citrus grandis - pomelo and citrus paradisi - Grapefruit
