Ramon I have tried them as ripe as they look like blood dripping from the fruit to just after they turned red. I don't have pics now, will take photos this summer & post them. I just haven't found one I would eat...

well then I would have no idea whats wrong, does the plant look similar to the one in the picts here?

Hey, Laaz, I was just going through this old thread and reflecting upon your comments about not finding the fruit appealing. This past summer I had some chilled green prickly pears (some are orange, some are red, some are purplish, some are green when mature) and these were better than the orange ones I had eaten up to this point. I got some pads of a few selections recently and will give them a try. Maybe green is the right flavor for you too!
