I grafted Suruga and Hana Gosho onto my Jiro persimmon yesterday. I put two Suruga grafts on using a cleft graft and one Hana Gosho on using a bark graft.

I had planned to move my Izu to the Jiro since it was not growing nearly as fast--it was initially put on a lower limb that the tree self pruned--so the Izu graft I did last year is gone. I will have to see if I can get another piece of Izu budwood next year.

If anyone needs Jiro budwood, I can send that now or next winter.

The Hana Gosho has put out leaves, and the Suruga bud are begining to break.

I also think I have flowers starting on the Jiro--maybe I will get some fruit.

All grafts are good! The Hana Gosho has already grown about 6 inches, and both the Suruga grafts are growing.

The Jiro is going to have about a dozen flowers--looking forward to trying them.
