Hey Folks, I thought I'd introduce myself here on the forum, I actually came across it while searching for a way to contact Gene Lester regarding some specific citrus questions, but I'm so pleased to have come across your site.
Aside from a handful of potted key lime trees, I'm not a huge grower at all. I grew up in South Florida and did have some in-ground key lime trees but since being here in the NE, have had to stick with the pots.
I happen to own the keylime.com domain name, which I registered back in 1998. I am in the key lime pie business, and I'm not here to promote anything whatsoever. I have always maintained the keylime.com site as a portal for information about key limes, and it will remain that way, kind-of my giving honor and respect to the little fruit that put food on my table.
The site has comparison and horticultural pages in which I have tried to provide information as best I can, but I am no expert by any stretch. I'm not certain my growing hints are correct, as (discovering here) there are so many variables. But our site does get some high-traffic and I am often asked questions from people trying to grow key limes. It will be great to have a source to offer those questions and get some definitive answers. I had always thought of having an "Ask the Expert" section, this might suffice.
The intent here in is to try and educate myself and pass along that information. I'm not sure what the policy is here (copyright etc), such as sharing a list of growing tips that I read earlier, but any helpful answers I do find within these forum pages, attribution will be given.
Thanks again for the site, a treasure-trove of collective knowledge.
